Occupational Burnout Counselling.

Occupational burnout is a real and present danger in many occupations.  Sometimes it can occur with no warning signs, either to the person, or their manager.

The aim of occupational burnout counselling is to help the person get the rest they need, and return them to work, often in stages, as quickly as possible.

If an employee experiences burnout, this is often a time for the organisation to reflect on their current working practices.  Not all burnout, of course, is due to organisational failings, it can just as easily the result of the psychological predisposition of the employee.  If feedback is asked for, and without breaching the confidentiality of the client, part of my role is to offer supportive feedback to managers, so they can make sensible adjustments to working practices.
